
eGENTING
Programming Competition 2007 De-mist-ified
On 22
September 2007, over one hundred undergraduates, graduates
and professionals throughout Malaysia converged in Genting
Highlands to contest for the top prizes in the sixth
eGENTING Programming Competition.

Multimedia
University Cyberjaya graduate, Fun Mun Pieng, emerged
champion and walked away with RM6,000 cash and an
opportunity to work with the eGENTING Research & Development
(Systems) Department. Fun’s advice to other contestants “I
believe to be successful is easy, but the only problem is
that giving up is easier. So, never ever give up.” He said
the competition was very tough but he didn’t give up and
managed to solve all four questions successfully.

Quan, an undergraduate of Monash University Malaysia, came
out second, followed by third prize winner Alven Lee Weng
Wei, a graduate from Multimedia University Cyberjaya.
There were
seven contestants who attained the level of distinction and
six others who received certificates of merit.

Programming
enthusiasts who have exceeded the age limit of 26 years old
were also given a chance to demonstrate their programming
skills in the professional category. Yew Kwang Hooi clinched
the first prize and took home a Dell laptop, a HP All-In-One
printer plus an iPod Nano worth over RM5,000 in total. The
second and third prizes went to Mohd Nazri Ramliy and Leong
Team Fook respectively.
